This year, 2013, is coming to an end, which means something is finished but something new is going to come, 2014, who knows if it is going to be better or worse.

Smartphones are awesome. They keep us connected to friends, help with directions and give us access to the Internet's infinite wonders. But how awesome is too awesome? And when does appreciation become addiction?

English traditions

Did you know English people get surprised when they heard about the Spanish people having 12 grapes at midnight in New Year's Eve? The English culture has a lot of traditions as well. 

Have you ever heard about Boxing day?

It is celebrated on the 26th of December. It was created when the "leftovers" or unwanted gifts used to be given to the servants by their lords. It is also the day that the servants would get a rest because before and during the Christmas they were busy serving their masters. 

Now it is also related to the box from the gifts they receive during Christmas day. The streets are full of empty boxes from those presents to be thrown away, but also the shopping malls are full of people with their boxes with the presents they do not like in order to have them changed.

Look for some information about a particular tradition of any English speaking country and comment below to this post explaining it. 

Embarrasing moments

Everyone in life has lived plenty of embarrasing moments that now are fun because one look at them from another point of view.

I have created a wall where you have to tell me briefly what happened to you once that you got extremely embarrased. It can also be a fictial situation if you still prefer to keep it secret. :P

What is music for me?

Chistmas mural competition

Now that Christmas is coming soon we would like to decorate the classrooms a little bit "christmassy". For that reason, we are going to compete to see who does the best "Christmas poster". I want you to create posters in groups of four using this website.

You have to represent in the poster all the aspects that make you remember these special days: the snow on the streets, some gloves, a tree, chocolate... Also you have to include videos and songs, and finally a slogan about Christmas. 

We will have so much fun and our classroom will be the best decorated this year for Christmas!
